Did you see the joy? Do you want to? #gotyourbacksista
Last Friday I heard hearts singing, women laughing and I had a vision of how the world can be when we are kind to others.
You see, last Friday was #gotyourbacksista Day and 1000’s of women everywhere consciously chose to uplift other women: to perform acts of kindness for other women, to spread joy and demonstrate they’ve ‘got your back sista’.
Did you notice how good it feels to give to someone else? To see the joy in someone else’s face and know that YOU contributed to that person’s joy is just so …. awesome!
I think giving and being of service is the best feeling in the world – your heart swells and so does someone else’s!
I’m going to be honest, when I came up with the idea for ‘#gotyourbacksista Day’, I wasn’t sure if other women would believe in it or would want to take the time to participate in the day.
But more fool me – there was no need to doubt because YOU all got on board and did beautiful, kind, amazing things that left glowing hearts and smiling faces everywhere!
Collectively, over 2000 women were involved in the day, all over Australia and around the world!
The best part of the day was knowing that it is so easy to make someone’s day – all you have to do is be kind to them!
Everyday we make decisions that determine how we live our lives and create the world we live in.
We make decisions and actions that either bring us closer to our dreams or further away from them.
And that is indeed true when it comes to creating our world – our inner world and our outer world.
It starts with our thoughts and then is manifested by our actions.
I want to live in a world where women are free from violence; women are treated equally to each other and to men; where women have a voice; where women are valued and loved; where women care for and uplift each other.
That is my dream and I am taking steps to make that dream a reality.
I spent #gotyourbacksista Day with a tribe of women who did a whole variety of kind acts for other women (you can see on the video above and at the end of this page). I want to thank those women who came with me – your kindness toward me has given more joy and comfort than you will ever know. I am blessed. Thank you sistas.
If you were on Facebook or Instagram last Friday, you may have see the multitude of various posts from women sharing how they were making a difference for other women that day, here are a few from the day:
